MEET THE NATIVES

The History of Native Americans is both magnificant and at the same time even tragic. It is estimated that about  20 – 90 million Native Americans inhabited America at the time of the European arrivals. They had lived in the land many, many years before white man set foot on their soil. They had gradually migrated across the land and became a civilized group. The name “Indian” was given them by Christopher Columbus who mistakenly believed he had landed in the Indies.

The Native Americans suffered dramatically  throughout history in the United States and even today they are discriminated and remain a minority. Their land was taken away and still half of them live on reservations that the white men put a side for them.
